Date Night @ Johnny Rocket IOI Mall Putrajaya

It's been a while since me and my husband goes out for dinner together without the kids... Kalau ada pun because nak attend Company function je or tengok wayang cerita yang tak U. 

So one night both of us agreed to go out and have some fun during school night. Date Night. What is a Date Night? For a Malaysian, may be it is quite new, although I have some friends mention it or practicing it.  Let see what it is actually mean...

Our plan is to have it once a month, and we take turn to pay the dinner. For our first Date Night, I suggest to go to Johnny Rockets. So we drove to the nearest outlet which is at IOI Mall Putrajaya after work on Wednesday.

So why Johnny Rockets?  

I heard about the dancing!!... That's all? 

Yes.. that's about it.. why do you think I drove almost 45 minutes for? Just to eat a burger?

I also heard about the good milk shake, the ambiance, the waiter & waitress' friendliness & the setting.. The 50's setting theme..

So, this is what we've ordered..

Well, sebab tak banyak order so tak boleh nak buat ranking la.. Just review je.. 

1] Oreo Cookies & Cream Mlik shake - agaknya sebab dah signature dorang ni milk shake, mak oi,memang sedap.. smooth je. rasa bit of oreo sekali sekala.. not too sweet 

2] Coffee Milk Shake - arrghhh... awesome.. just awesome..

3] Rocket Single - beef burger.. nak order yang double kang ketat pulak perut ni.. so order yang biasa lah.. souce dia best jugak.. 

4] Smokehouse Single - pun beef burger biasa la, tapi dorang letak curly fries kat dalam tu.. daging pun rasa smokey-smokey gitu.. 

Patty dia boleh tukar to Chicken patty to those x makan beef.. French Fries boleh change to sweet potato fries or Onion Rings.. your choice..

Menu kat sini ada banyak lagi, sandwiches, hot dog..pasta pun ada.. tapi yang fofular burger.. macam tagline dia ..The Original Burgers..yummeh!

Malam ni nak makan2 and borak2 mengimbau kenangan masa dating dulu.. hehe

The spot that we sat is next to a jukebox.. sgt lupa nak amik gambar..sigh.. so kami pun suka2 la pilih lagu yang kami nak dengar.. free je, x bayar. Banyak nye lagu oldies..

Tak jauh dari meja kami ada org sambut birthday.. because of the ambiance and energy in that restaurant, kami pun turut tepuk-tepuk tangan masa waiter tu nyanyi lagu birthday and present the cake.. I guess that have to be pre arranged kot... surprise to the birthday girl la.. 

The best part, is everytime ada org masuk restaurant & keluar restaurant, dorang mesti greet.. Hello welcome to Johnnny Rockets!!... Bye! Please come again... hmm energetic tau..

Pastu dah habis makan, tetiba waiter n waitress beratur nak menari.. synchronize nye dorang.. awesome lah.. Kalau tak silap, beberapa jam sekali dorang akan menari.. dapat lagu yang kena tu dorang akan mula la menari.. tapi make sure order orang dah settle ye.. hehe

So for those who would like to eat good burgers, milk shake boleh pegi ke Johnny Rockets yang berdekatan.. Tapi make sure uools tak kisah pasal harga sebab harga nye memang over for a burger.. Rasa lain,ambiance lagi.. dancing lagi.... Pastu bila dah makan jangan ungkit-ungkit harga dah.. hehe..

Awesome Fruit Juice - Made in Terengganu

Picture this:- fresh, blended, cold, sweet, yellow, smooth, refreshing, citrus, mango flavor in 1 glass... guess what?? The best mango fruit juice ever!! I tell ya, level of awesomeness tahap 95 beb..

A wise man once told me, a visit to Terengganu is never complete if you didn't drink fruit juice from any stall in Terengganu. Yup, you got that right man..... For me the best fruit juice I ever tasted is at Air Buah Pak San stall located at Seberang Takir, Kuala Terengganu.

Last February, I visited Terengganu again, and of course had supper at this stall and this time with my family. It was already 9 pm but the crowd here is just getting bigger and bigger (last time i checked, the local said there is almost no night life in KT.. hmm what??). After a few minutes of waiting, we finally manage to get a table and start ordering our supper.

I ordered my favorite mango juice & also guava, and the rest ordered sour sop juice and orange juice. They also sell simple dish like laksam (rice mee with coconut milk cooked with fish) laksa, fried keropok lekor, nasi lemak, nasi dagang, nasi minyak and curry mee. There's no ala carte meal like nasi goreng or ikan bakar here though. I guess that's just because they want to focus on their specility :-  fruit juice. So we chose laksam and keropok lekor to go with the fruit juices.

There are many sizes to choose from;- the smallest to regular and to the biggest cup or shall I say mini aquarium? Hehe.. actually the smallest is quite big for me, as if you ordered 'big glass' here in N9. You can order the mini aquarium size if you come in large group and everybody wants to drink the same thing and doesn't mind sharing  :)

The price.. well, I can say it is very reasonable. The range is from RM2.40 to RM25++ depends on the sizes. Sorry I can't provide a lot of photos as I am busy with my kids at that time. Here's one that i managed to snap.

Laksam & Mango Juice

So here's the rating..the best is rated # 1 and followed by the rest..

1] Mango Juice - awesome freshness balanced with the sweet and sour taste of mango. Not sure how many slices of mango they blended, but the thickness is just nice. of course this will be # 1!!

2] Sour Sop juice - nicely done, but I somehow prefer a little bit of slice of sour sop fruit inside the glass.. not all blended together..  the freshness can be tasted though. Not too sweet just the way my parents like it..

3] Orange Juice - a typical OJ with a twist of pulp inside... hmm I wonder how. Balance of citrus and sweetness taste, the sour part comes later.. wallah.. what a refreshing nite..

4] Keropok Lekor - always the best sold in Terengganu, I am not sure whether they produce this themselves or they just buy the raw one from their neighborhood. The dipping sauce is also a star.. but you can eat the keropok on it's own, taste good as well.

5] Laksam - for my liking, the laksam here was OK. Tasted a better one somewhere in Port Dickson.. but I like the portion, it is not too heavy for supper, too light for dinner..


So next time you're in Terengganu, don't forget to stop by Air Buah Gelas Besar Pak San - Pak San Big Glass Fruit Juice (directnya translation aku) for the level 95 of awesomeness.. Order mango if you have the same taste as mine, other fruit juice won't disappoint you as well..

Just follow the sign board to Kuala Terengganu airport, and Seberang Takir. You won't missed the colorful and bright stall located by the road just before the juction to Kem Seberang Takir. There will be a lot of stall selling Big Glass Fruit Juice but look out for Pak San's stall..

Tea Break At The Urban Affairs, Seremban 2

Untuk entri pertama we olls, wajib lah rasanya untuk cari café yang dekat dengan rumah . So we olls pilih The Urban Affairs yang terletak di Dataran Centrio berhadapan dengan Mydin Mall S2. Café ni memaparkan konsep vendor boutique yang semakin femes sekarang ni.  Bukan saja ada café, tapi butik & dobi - dobi conventional bukan self service.

Disebabkan konsep vendor butik yang mengumpulkan multiple vendors dalam satu butik, entrance kedai ni dipenuhi dengan baju - baju both for man & woman, make up, aksesori, tudung and you name it lah, semua ada.. lifestyle punya barang la.. masuk ke dalam sikit ada counter, chiller & entrance to dobi. Saiz kedai agak besar sebab guna 2 lot kedai so sebelah kiri baru lah ada café nya, together with kids area & some other clothing line. Suasana kedai memang tersusun, menarik dan kemas. Barang-barang dilabel vendornya and also ada price tag sekali. Paling menarik, ruang depan kedai..

Mata we olls sebenarnya asyik memandang ke chiller The Urban Affairs ni.. Ish.. memang affair betul ni.. Tapi rilek jap, tengok-tengok baju &  tudung kat kedai ni. Ish.. chiller ni panggil lagi.. 

Ok dah settle beli barang, we olls terus ke chiller..hehe.. Menarik… ada  PopsMalayaAiskrim, cakes,pavlova, lemonade, jomngopi, fruit tarts and banyak lagi dessert yang mengecurkan deria rasa dan melaparkan perut yang tak berapa nak kenyang ni... 

Ok ni minum petang we olls…

Yummeh kan.. OK Pendapat we olls untuk dessert yang we olls rasa kat sini. Rating ikut nombor satu paling best dan seterusnya...

1] Messy Jar Strawberry Milkshake - nothing can go wrong with this milk shake!! Topped with Oreo cookies, M&Ms,love letters cookies & ice cream, messed with the chocolate sauce, accompanied by the salty pretzel that they glued along the jar mouth with peanut butter.. Every sip gave different experience, even when the whole thing has melted, you still want to slupp slurpp slurpp..

2] Churos served with Chocolate Dip - freshly fried once ordered..Of course lah kan.. Size yang quite besar, coated with sweet cinnamon sugar. Chocolate dip yang secukupnya. It is crunchy on the outside and bila gigit, memang lembut. A good churos is the one yang ada lubang - lubang dalam dia kan.. Wallah, yang ni memang sedap.. A must try!

3] Kopi Susu - JomNgopi - Served chilled in a bottle, a mild coffee taste. Tak manis sangat, tak creamy sangat. Rasanya ringan and cukup for a coffee lovers like us. Win!!

4] Chocolate Caramel Cake - the caramel topping was nicely done, salty and sweet.. yang bestnya the nutty texture when you eat the outer cake, blended nicely with the layers and the cake it self..

5] Chocolate Pavlova - the chocolate pavlova has two tiers, each layered with chocolate cake and mango sliced in the middle. Topped with cut strawberries and some kiwi. We feel that this particular serving is quite old, it taste sweet and old. Tidak lah basi tapi old je.

6] Monster Oreo Cake - it is a chocolate cake, topped with vanilla cream frosting and oreo crushed and oreo cookies. The chocolate cake seems quite dense for us, and also taste old. For 5 & 6, we didn't finished it. Sorry guys!!

 Overall, it was a very pleasant and sweet evening at The Urban Affairs Cafe, Boutique and Laundry. Untuk anda yang tak tau nak makan kat mana lepas shopping kat Mydin Mall S2, boleh lah singgah ke The Urban Affairs Dataran Centrio Seremban 2. Click for address The Urban Affairs. Nak makan mee goreng pun ada, grilled chicken chop, sandwic, pasta.. bukan hanya yang di display di chiller sahaja. Boleh order jugak.. Harga pun berpatutan. Meh tengok menu...

Next time datang nak try mango cheese cake yang sangat di rekomen oleh staf kedai yang kiut miut.. 

Bagi yang tercari- cari mana nak makan di Seremban 2, harus lah datang sini. Jangan lupa bawak baju nak di basuh or gosok, sini ada dobi. Nak cari tudung Neelofa, Scarfbucks, baju kerja, beg, make up boleh gak singgah, dah jadi one stop center dah. Boleh bawak husband or fiancee u olls sini, u olls shopping cik abang boleh minum Messy Jar Green Tea sambil makan Churos..
